- unsatisfying ending
- plot felt like too much, so many events crammed into the middle of the book
- too many characters and the alternating POVs meant their stories getting jumbled together
- inclusion of
benedikt and marshall felt so unnecessary? more of an authors whim than a necessary addition that would contribute to the novel

This was an incredible conclusion to this story. We left things of in Foul Lady Fortune in a very interesting place. I just couldn't wait to immediately get to this book, as I just needed to know what would happen next. This book really kept that amazing momentum going right up until the end. I had a great time!
This book is just so action packed. I spend my entire time reading it on the edge of my seat. I just absolutely could NOT put it down, and therefore just absolutely flew through it. On top of that this book just went in plenty of direction I absolutely did not expect before going into it. Some reveals definitely had me completely shocked. It made for such a captivating read, and I just loved being along for the ride.
On top of that the cast of characters is just great. They get thrown together a bit more in this book, and I loved all the different dynamics. On top of that each individual character is also just really interesting. Of course the romances are also great. Chloe Gong just knows how to write a romance! Each couple in this book had at least 1 moment that made me swoon, with Rosalind and Orion being my favourite (of course). I also loved the little cameos of These Violent Delights characters (definitely read Last Violent Call before this one, the novella's are kind of important).
My main issue with this book was that the ending itself fell a bit flat for me. I spend quite some time thinking about what it is about this book that kept me from fully adoring it, but now that I'm typing this review I have realised the ending is it. I mean, it definitely is a great direction for the story to go, and I do love the places these characters end up. However, the big showdown felt a bit like a letdown. I don't know. It all just seemed a bit easy, and over as if it were nothing. I don't know. I just wanted it to be a bit more, I guess.

I enjoyed all of the couples. Was a good story and I will be seeking out more spy books and I also need to go back and read Julie’s books.
