Obviously this is a very short prequel novella to the trilogy but i am still counting it towards my reading goal. I was so confused throughout this little book but hopefully some pieces will come together throughout the rest of the series. I have heard great things about this series as well as the monsters trilogy so I am very excited to read both.

this is practically a chapter sample since it’s the first 5 chapters of the first book in this series.
so completely unnecessary to read if you want to read book one, and only good to see if it might be for you to try the author or series but since there are three time jumps in this little thing it’s not really helpful i would think (starts with a strange moment were a woman can’t remember what happens to her or how she got there only that she appears to have murdered someone which she guesses simply because she has blood on her hands, then jumps to the main male at what ever time when he smells the hair of a dead women and the last jump to the actual start of the story which ends in a way that makes absolutely no sense if this would be an individual short story to end it at that point, but since it’s not it’s just a chapter cliffhanger instead)
so i wouldn’t recommend this - at all
just go right into book one!

Definitely making me intrigued to keep reading the series but the first couple chapters of Adrian seemed a little all over the place
