A little strange but really hit home. The blending of some fairly heavy philosophy with a quite dreamlike and surreal plot was interesting.

I really resonated with 80% of the book unlike almost anything else I’ve read. The ending really lost me though, and dropped the score I gave the book
Loved it, actually. It sometimes reads pretty slow and a bit high headed but reversed itself beautifully when the narrator and his ideas are lectured on. In some way, I felt like it was very quite close to Plath’s The Bell Jar but obviously the plot is very different. Maybe it’s just the outlook that Harry holds towards the world?
I think Steppenwolf is due for a reread but not now. Head spinning! Such an intellectually dense read!
