Amazing. First Fitzgerald book I could actually get into. It's very heartbreaking watching this slow process of Amory Blaine falling from such a luxurious childhood to this destitution in which, stripped of everything, he finally knows himself.

This book was a mix of really insightful and helpful bits about being 20-something and figuring out what you want to do with your life, and extremely racist and white privilege theories on life. The structure of the book was quite chaotic with all the weird poetry and play parts, but ultimately it was all worth it. One thing I especially liked is that Amory is described as very lazy throughout the book, which I feel is quite a taboo-ed subject in current day productivity obsessed society, which was a nice breath of fresh air.
