This is a beautiful crawl to happy ever after for a Manhattan socialite and a South Carolina cook.
The characters were deep and fulfilling, the narrative slow at the beginning but easy paced and interesting once you understood Grant’s emotional walls and Sophie’s turmoil.
Reba and the other cast of characters were hilarious.
Would definitely recommend this read.

Another great book in the series. I was all over this one since it's a single dad romance. I'm such a sucker for those. Poor Sophie her life is at a true crossroads. Fleeing just to get breathing room to decide her next move turns out to be the best decision she ever made. Life puts us right where we are meant to be. Grant's daughter is a sassy little thing, but cute at the same time. Grant hasn't had it easy either. Life has knocked him down a few times. Both Sophie and Grant deserve to find happiness in this world. Taking a chance is what all the have to do, but will Sophie's life in NYC bring these two back down to earth? I really enjoyed this one. Plenty of heart along with the right amount of humor. Grant and Sophie have great chemistry that burns up the pages. Coming to the small South Carolina town is exactly what Sophie needed. It was beautiful watching her find herself again and to see what is truly important in life. A must read!

Heartbroken Hero: Falling for a Cancer is the 7th book in the Falling for the Stars series. You can read this series in any particular order. The only common theme is the Zodiac. This is Sophie Darnell and Grant Dawson’s story.

I have been reading a lot of darker themed books lately, so this book was a dream to read!

Sophie has a love/hate relationship with Grant. He is a kind of a stick in the mud. But there is a reason. They both have their reasons to be closed off and neither were sharing what happened to them in the beginning.

OMG! What a wonderful book! These 2 authors had me crying at the end of this book! Happy Tears!

Here are the other books that are Zodiac themed: All are must reads!

Bastard Bartender - Gemini Nicolás and Evette
Naughty Neighbor - Libra: Jake and Lacey
Charming Coworker - Sagittarius: Hunter and Katie
Rebel Roommate - Aquarius: Wesley and Stacey
Arrogant Officer - Aries: Dax and Bree
Loyal Lawyer - Leo: Sebastian and Amy
Heartbroken Hero - Cancer: Grant and Sophie

This series has been a delight. I might need to find me a Cancer man, like Grant, because he was delicious. Secondary characters were delightful, , the slow progression to a becoming friends and then lover, and a great storyline made this one one of my favorites.

I did have a few areas that I wished had been fleshed out but this was still a good book. I always enjoy this author combination.

With a scandal on her heels, Sophie needs to escape NY and give herself time to regroup. Stopping off in SC at the beach seems like a great place, that is until she meets grumpy single dad Grant. But with the aide of Grant's grandmother Reba, the two end up working together. Can you take the city out of the girl? Or will NY follow her to the beach and create havoc along the way? Filled with beautifully written characters and moments that will make the reader sigh with happiness this was a great read. Runow and Colette prove once again that they can add layers to their characters and give their readers a romance they soon will not forget.

This is a brilliant read.
When Sophie's feels like her life is falling apart she leaves her home in New York and ends up in Myrtle Beach.
Grant knows that he should keep away from the beauty in heels in front of him but he is drawn to her.
When she starts working for him they start to get closer but what happens when her old life comes looking for her.
A must read with a brilliant ending.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This story was sweet, Sophie's and Grant's story was a romantic enemies to lovers standalone. A great light read, with little angst and simply a breather after more complex readings. It was emotional, the storyline was good and the characters were perfect for the story, I would've wanted more angst but that is me after reading heavy angst ones. You will enjoy the whole series of standalones romances.
