Good, quick read, funny at first but then devolves into such depressing loneliness and abandonment and misunderstanding. Recommend highly.

Incredible book. Depressing yet familiar. Great metaphor about alienation, rejection & family ties. What happens when you become a burden to your family & to society? Soooo sad but honestly so so true. Ughhhh

Glad I finally read this. It felt reminiscent of The Yellow Wallpaper - short, packs a punch, psychotic. It was cool to see the Kafkaesque style, where Gregor wakes up as a dungbettle but is more concerned about being late for work. Honestly justice for Gregor because his family don't do right by him - but at the same time he's not too bothered, he's hanging off the ceiling vibing. It was interesting to watch, passively how his family fall deeper into poverty and through that we grow to understand that previously Gregor must have worked very hard. And then he dies of starvation, as a dungbettle - why am I getting teary rn, poor Gregor.

This was a strange book, definitely out of my comfort zone and I am glad I tried it.

i love kafka so much, his way of writing and thinking.
tbh i can relate to him.
he was in his lowest and even tho his family rejected him, he was just dead weight.

when you fist hear about this book you may think it’s kind of stupid, but believe me, it’s a really good book and has an extraordinary metaphor.

i think every one should read this book at least once in their life, it’s short and every page is worth it.
