This book was really easy to read and captivated me from the beginning. The characters were robust and there were built out story lines. What has lacked in previous books I’ve read were present here. I really was shook at some of the twists and turns and in true thriller fashion, the last 40 pages were a whirlwind. Very solid read!

I was so excited about the new Greer Hendricks/Sarah Pekkanen release that I leapt at the chance to read the ARC. The three previous books I've read by this duo were marvelously dark and gripping and introduced twists that I would not have predicted.
Perhaps they set the bar too high? The Golden Couple was a good story. It would make a suspenseful movie. But it lacked some of the tension of their previous works.
It is the story of Matthew and Marissa Bishop-known to their friends as the Golden Couple for their gleaming, perfect life and physical perfection. All is not golden, however, and they seek out Avery Chambers - a renegade marriage counselor whose 10-session system will either fix you or end your marriage.
Worth the read but not my favorite of their works.
*with thanks to NetGalley for the digital ARC in exchange for this honest review.

Wow! Ex therapist helping a couple overcome a problem but with unconventional ways and trying to figure out exactly what each of them is hiding. Very good twisty thriller and fast read!

You’ve seen those couples. You know which ones I’m talking about. The ones who have the perfect life. Or so it seems…..
I never really know what to expect when I pick up a Hendricks/Pekkanen book. I was intrigued by the description and was excited to dive in. The story begins and you meet the characters. Right off the bat, I don’t like any of them. I know I’m supposed to feel that way but I couldn’t help feeling irked. Yet it’s not enough to turn me off from the book. More like, let’s see where this is going. The story unravels lots of suspense and turns. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, it’s a dead end. LOVED THAT! What an ending! Totally satisfying. It felt like the sun came out after being hidden by the clouds. Very nice.
This is a great read! You have suspense and that thrilling feeling like something bad is going to happen but you’ll get all your answers. I highly recommend this book! I give it 4 stars.

Devoured this book & loved that the twists just kept coming!
3.5 stars. I was really hooked for most of this book, but the ending just didn’t do it for me. It didn’t seem to fit the vibe of the rest of the book. Super intriguing concept and I liked the dual narration but the majority seemed like a psychological “who am I supposed to believe” type novel and the end turned into an action/hostage scenario that didn’t seem plausible enough.

I love the previous books by author's Sarah Pekkanen and Greer Hendricks, this one does not disappoint.
Avery lost her license as a psychiatrist but still works as a therapist/counselor. Marissa and Matthew come to her because their marriage is in danger. Marissa cheated, but still wants to make it work with Matthew, if he can forgive her. From the very beginning Avery suspects that both of them are keeping their own secrets, from her and each other. Avery is used to clients lying to her, but she is good at ferreting out the truth. Usually she is better at helping clients with straightening out their messy lives than she is at fixing her own. The thing is, the secret that one of her clients is keeping may be to much for even Avery to handle.
