I started off really loving this book. the research done is tremendous, and I did find some books that I am going to try for myself. It's incredibly interesting to read about the lives of women writers throughout Jane Austen's lifetime.
Unfortunately, the book is also filled with repetition and some elaborate jabs at the author's own past. Every chapter could have been at least 4-6 pages shorter, and the final chapter goes off into a conclusion of the entire book for half the page count. Only to then still give the same arguments in the conclusion.
