I liked this book! I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone I know, but it was really interesting getting into the head of this MC. I have never read a story from the perspective of someone who struggles with social situations. It certainly added to plot. It’s a good reminder that not everyone’s perspectives are the same as your own.

Also, as someone who likes cleaning, some of the cleaning scenes were oddly satisfying to read

I had a bit of trouble getting through about the first half of this book. It didn’t quite grab me in the way I thought it would from all I’ve heard about this book. I think it was because the narrator’s voice took some time to get used to. But I was hooked by the second half and eager to see how things would work out for Molly.

Secret time!

I balled my eyes out. I laughed. I think my heart grew two sizes.

Often I found myself wanting to give Molly a big hug.

Wonderful mystery. I loved seeing the world through Molly’s eyes.

good read, once things pick up they just kept going and i couldn’t put it down. i love molly and seeing her get taken advantage of upset me but I’m happy that she found her new family. good cast of characters and going back to piece things together with new info was fun!

I have been really struggling on how to rate this book because actually there were some things I loved and some things that I found incredibly frustrating. Let me tell you why!

This book is meant to be a thriller/mystery, and while it has a lot of elements that make it a thriller/mystery, a lot of it was actually very cosy and heartwarming (which I find weird for a thriller…), and the twists weren’t exactly shocking - like me, you probably predicted them right from the beginning. The only twist I did find shocking and unnecessary was the assisted suicide. Like - why? I didn’t get it

Ok. Let’s tackle Molly the Maids “quirkiness” and her being “different”. Can authors who are releasing books from 2020 onwards at the very LEAST just come out with it and say that a character is neurodivergent? It’s very obvious especially to those that are neurodivergent, and we would love the representation and for it to be clear. Other characters referring to her as a weirdo but never actually explaining WHY she’s different is so so so frustrating. Also, I’m assuming this book is set in fairly modern times similar to when it was published - so why the hell couldn’t detective stark DETECT that Molly had ND traits? She spoke to her enough times and I’m pretty sure would have been able to tell early on
