These books were my childhood. I picked the first one up right after the Greece/Greek Mythology unit in grade 6 and man, was I glad I did.

The Books:
The Lightning Thief
The Sea of Monsters
The Titan's Curse
The Battle of the Labyrinth
The Last Olympian

The Characters:

Perseus 'Percy' Jackson-By far probably my favorite male fictional character and one of my overall favorite fictional characters of all time. Percy is such a sarcastic character and can be a bit clueless sometimes, but is still very smart and just an overall amazing character. He is also extremely loyal and was very well developed.

Annabeth Chase-Like Percy, Annabeth is my favorite fictional character out of the females though and is actually probably my favorite character of all time. Like Hermione Granger from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter, Annabeth shows that just because you are a girl and know a lot of things, it doesn;t mean that you can't kick butt.

Grover Underwood-Grover is an amazing character. I love how his character was developed through the series. He is still pretty klutzy a lot of the time, but if he wasn't he wouldn't be Grover. He may be a scaredy-cat or well scaredy-goat, but he is still really brave if you ask me.

Luke Castellan- There isn't much I can say about Luke without spoiling things, but then again that's kind of this whole review. Although Luke made some bad choices, he made up for them in the end.

Thalia Grace-I've always loved Thalia. She kind of reminded me of myself in a way that is kind of hard to put into words, although Annabeth reminds me of myself much more. Thalia is such a strong and amazing character and I wish we got to see more of her.

Nico di Angelo- Oh my gods, Nico. I really love Nico. One of my favorite characters of all time and probably ties with Percy for my favorite male character. He had to go through so much at such a young age.

Tyson- This little guy came into our lives during [b:The Sea of Monsters|28186|The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #2)|Rick Riordan|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1400602661s/28186.jpg|43554], although I guess you can't really call him little, can you?

Zeus-Not to be disrespectful to Lord Zeus of anything, but if you actually look back at everything in the Greek Myths, if something bad happened is probably because Zeus thought that his position as King of Olympus was threatened or he just couldn't keep it in his pants.

Chiron-Chiron was a great teacher for many great heroes and I am pretty sure that he became a father figure to many many heroes.

Dionysus-I actually find how Rick pictured him to be quite funny, although I am pretty sure that it would be true. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't try to get heroes' names rights so that he doesn't get attached to them, but it's just a thought.

Ares-Is an arrogant upstart, that's all I have to say.

Poseidon- I love the idea of him always wearing a Hawaiian shirt and Bermuda shorts and find it oddly amusing.

Clarisse La Rue-An Amazing character, I love her.

Sally Jackson-An amazing mother and woman. She is such a strong person.

Paul Blofis-I'm glad that he is now with Sally. He is actually really cool, to be honest.

Hermes-I really like George and Martha. Hermes is really funny and is actually one of my favorite deities in the Greek Myths.

Apollo-Enough with the haikus Apollo. I can't wait to read [b:The Hidden Oracle|26252859|The Hidden Oracle (The Trials of Apollo, #1)|Rick Riordan|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1449765273s/26252859.jpg|46249638] to get more of Apollo's weird personality.

Artemis-Probably my favorite goddess.

Athena-Tied with Artemis for my favorite goddess, although she can be kind of...rude.

Hera-I hate her and her stupid cows.

Hades-By far my favorite god, and beats everyone for my favorite. He is awesome.

Hestia-She is too kind for her own good.

Other Characters-Ethan was pretty cool. I was pretty sad about Zoe, Bianca, Silena, and Beckendorf. Blackjack was just awesome. I just love Rick's Characters.

Synopsis:

The Plot-Was great and was able to keep the story exciting and kept the story moving.

The Ending-Great, fantastic, amazing, for each book.

What I Love-Everything.

What I Didn't Love-Nothing, I loved everything.

Final Thoughts- Each book was amazing, and I loved rereading them all. Percy Jackson is still my favorite series ever.

Final Rating-The average rating is 5/5 stars. And it was definitly deserved.

While Percy can be a dense POV character at times (we get it, you like Annabeth. can we move on??), I really enjoyed this saga. I love the humor in it, the way the myths are reinvented, the sort of cute aspect to seeing these characters when they were teeny tiny.

And you'll definitely want to continue onto the sequels.
