This book gave me a serious case of the “just one more chapter” syndrome. I simply couldn’t put it down. The book it’s absolutely addictive, just when you think it’s safe to put it down a curve ball is thrown in and you’re right back to square one trying to work out who else is involved.

This is the first book I’ve read which has been written by C.L.Taylor but it won’t be the last. In fact I’ll be rushing down the book shop now. Her writing style allows you to get swept up in the momentum of the story and completely shut off from the world around you.

I’m actually sad the book is over but felt the ending was very true to Olivia’s character and really does highlight that life doesn’t have to be picture perfect.

🧳 This was my debut read to C.L. Taylor's writing and I was impressed. The author does a good job to engage playing with suspense and drama. I was hooked since the beginning, impatient to find out more! But I did not find any of the characters lovable, except for the daughter, yet that was more pity.

🧳 There were numerous plot twists, throwing me off from who the mmc's partner in crime could be. This made the book retain mystique especially towards the second half, as the ending draws near. However, the plot was not realistic. The intensity brought on by the action, drama and suspense did not particularly balance together when you question the logistics of the plot line. I wish the book ended differently.
