Be forewarned, while this book is fun, it's brutal. People die in very violent ways. Basically, she wrote the main character like a cut throat "real pirate" and not like Keira Knightley a la POTC playing the gentle, cutesy pirate. All that said, super fun and easy read.

I liked this sequel, it was everything I expected it to be of a book with Sirens and pirates.

Unlike the first book where the supernatural element was “sprung” on us, since we knew about it from the start; it just seemed to make the book feel more cohesive and flow better.

I did find the middle a little bland and almost boring and repetitive… there is only so many descriptions of being at sea and almost kissing Riden a girl can take…

The romance needed a little more, the cocky quick witted charmer from book 1 was gone and replaced with almost personality-less guy who’s only redeeming characteristic is he loves the MC…

But gripes aside it was an entertaining read and I enjoyed it for what it was.
