My favourite entry in the series so far. The fantasy and worldbuilding is much more mature than in the first two books. While the pacing sometimes faltered a little bit with the array of characters going back and forward, the widened scope and perspective was welcome.

This was my third reread of this particular book, and I have to say, each time I read it, I enjoy it more and more.

Heir of Fire picks up pretty much where Crown of Midnight left off, so I won’t go into the storyline to avoid spoilers, however this book introduces such much beloved characters (particularly Rowan and Manon), and really takes this series in a different direction then we may have come to expect given the previous books.

When it comes to Sarah J. Maas, my favourite thing about all of her books is her characters. No matter the series, the world, the storyline, her characters win me over every single time!

I hold a particular soft spot for Celaena in my heart, probably because she was the first heroine of Maas’s that I read, but honestly, how can you not love her?

Overall, this series is just amazing and this book is no different!

This series really hit its stride with “Heir of Fire.” I think I was intrigued but not fully sold on Throne of Glass until this book, but HoF is immensely satisfying and weaves together a lot of interesting,  it seemingly disconnected, storylines. I’m curious to see how things will continue to develop as this book also did a lot of set up for some major battles to come. HoF definitely had its slow moments, but interspersed with some good action, as well. I do think that the majority of this book is setting the stage for bigger things, and it did so well. I love how you’re getting to see all the characters develop.
