at the end of each book, I keep saying “wow this is my favorite book”
this one was a bit slower than the others, and I did find myself getting slightly annoyed at allll the different perspectives, but I realize it’s for the build up. I know there is much more to come, and after a while, I grew to look forward to some of the developing storylines.
for this book, I was looking forward to being introduced to Aedion and Rowan. before reading, I had heard that rowan was the quiet, asshole type, and yeah, he lived up to that LOL. some of the things he said even had me going “damn man, that was harsh”, but you come to realizations later behind his reasoning (spoiler, there really wasn’t any, maeve just didn’t tell him shit and he, of course, felt guilty). he ain’t my court member, so i’ll leave aelin up to dealing with his grumpy ass.
aedion, I have such a soft spot for after this book.
might my feelings change after these next few books? maybe.
dorian kind of annoyed me, because he just moved on to the next woman he could find. but I get it, daddy issues. everyone has them in sarah’s books, it seems.
chaol, thank you for finally choosing a side. finally.

SJM you are a queen. I loved this one! Rowan is my SJM crush! Ugh I cannot wait to see where this series goes. So much heartbreak but it’s also so endearing

5 stars might be generous but this book was so much better than the others. i don’t know if it’s because of rowan or because the plot felt more improved, refined and fluid but i loved it (and stayed up til 6:30am to finish it)
