I wanted to love this book but it just was messy. Too many characters with unfinished story lines. Clunky endings to others. I’m not a huge fan of insta love but this was a large feature so wasn’t great. Beautiful language but overall just ok

I found this melodramatic and difficult to take seriously, but also full of the ugliness of the world, which I'm probably not in the right place to read right now. Maybe I would've been able to tolerate it better at a different time. (Gave up after two chapters.)
