Berättelsen om Alice Hart fängslar mig i all stillhet, all blomsterprakt och i all sin grymhet.
Sometimes we go through life, believing a particular story, or fact about ourselves or our lives, and we limit ourselves by holding onto these stories and not sharing them, not talking about them - it’s in the sharing of stories that healing can happen…
I guess that why I love books and writing so much and why I enjoyed this book!
Alice was only a child when her parents died, and there was so much she wasn’t told - these secrets were designed to protect her but in the end only the truth can set her free and empower her!

I started this and had to put it down because if the sense of foreboding it had at the start! It sucked me in but I didn't know if I was emotionally ready to continue! I did some research and then when I was happy with what I had discovered without spoiling the story, I started back up again and read until one in the morning!
Beautiful language, great atmosphere, epic storytelling. Some of the characters were a bit harsh and prickly. Sometimes I got annoyed that Alice was making past mistakes over and over! There are some parts I wish were explored in more detail but overall an excellent read worth the hype.

I really wanted to give this a 5 star, but that absolutely-love-it element was missing. I really liked most things about the book: the concept of the flowers, the settings, most of the characters. I’m not sure what it was missing yet, but I just couldn’t give it the 5.
Originally had it rated at a 4 on Goodreads, but as I'm entering it now, I remember literally nothing, so I'm bringing it down. Not memorable.

Finished it very quickly, couldn't look away. Loved the way the story ebbed and flowed. Although didn't love how quickly it seemed she fell in love particularly with Dylan who didn't seem to have any loveable characteristics from the beginning. I would have like to learn more about a lot of the characters from the beginning but the story did move quick quickly and this time it was part of the appeal.
