The writing in this one is very flowy, flowery, almost Modernist-like — which is what I’ve come to expect from Winterson, but the premise of the book and the fragmented, bordering-on-nonsensical narration are a great deal more Postmodern. I suppose I liked it a little less than I expected because the narration is much more reflective and less plot-driven than her previous ones. It’s definitely not a book for everyone, and some of the topics it deals with are definitely not fun, but some parts really did resonate strongly with me.

I fear the coloured world on my neutral body

no, i don't really know what happened in this novel.
yes, i loved it.
it was ridiculously beautiful writing, it made some scathing commentary, it was so invested in the characters and had not a single piece of coherent plot
