What a beautiful story depicting polish myths and culture. I felt so connected to the characters and truly mourned amongst the eternal trees for the Leschy. The author has a gift for building her picturesque story and giving a soul to nature.

HE DIES?! What kind of bullshit is this???? I mean, the book was good. I enjoyed it. The whole time I was reading it I was comparing it to Howl’s Moving Castle, which I love, but you cannot make me love this demon man deer thing and then KILL HIM?!? Absolutely unfair.

And then the ending??? What is that?? Some, “until one night it doesn’t.” Did he get resurrected?? How? I have questions. I am so mad at this. I just wanted them to be together and raise Maksio together and have Jaga the house cat. Why can’t things ever go how I want?
