Oof, this was not only a heartstopper but a heartbreaker.
I came into this series fully expecting the tumultuous journey that Charlie & Nick would go through while falling in love and coming out to those around them. But I was not expecting such a poignant depiction of mental health and eating disorders and the effects they have on not just those who are suffering but the people who love them.
While this series is rather idealistic (at least compared to my own experiences), I hope and pray that the young adults that these novels are geared towards realize that this is how it should be. That life is really hard and things will not always be easy or comfortable, but that you are worthy of love and patience and support and a community to hold you up when you can't stand for yourself
