Absolutely adorable… but skip the middle

Okay. I needed the HEA too much. So I basically skipped from 50% to 85%. The plot is predictable from the beginning (which for me can be a huge plus when I need an easy read) but for this it just dragged a little? Like the predictability became a little too much at times and I just wanted things to happen rather than waiting around for things to go down. Overall I had a really wonderful time exploring the story though!

This book is an incredibly sweet surprise pregnancy, sports romance. The books plot focuses around the second chance romance between Maddison and Briggs as they navigate the struggles and joys of co-parenting a new born baby. The drama of the book comes from the sense of guilt and betrayal on Maddison’s part as she hides her online persona from Briggs, the hockey player who she slandered on her blog. The final part of the book is all about forgiveness and the characters development as they learn to let go of the hurt they were caused in the past and move on with each other. Overall I thought this book was a really chill read which I really needed amidst some of the darker novels I’ve been reading lately!
Graham kind of stole the show for me in this book so I’m super excited for his own story!

Spoiler alert!!!!!
Maddison’s dragging to confess was very frustrating for me so that’s the only reasons it’s not a true 5/5. Nonetheless this was a nice switch up from my recent reads. The pregnancy/baby trope gets bashed a lot but I do actually like it, as long as it’s done well. This is done well. I do wish we got to see more of Maddison’s pregnancy and how she felt through out. Also the meeting with Conrad with the forged documents and just her overall hint for Briggs. Overall I enjoyed the book, I took a pause and read a couple other things due to my frustration with Maddison but I finished it and I enjoyed it.

DID NOT FINISH: 60%

It got dead. More than half way through the book and the fmc is still lying to the mc. Leads me to think that when then secret is revealed, she doesn't grovel for forgiveness
