This one was so so for me. The codependency between the two main characters was too much and it was odd that it went on for eight years or so without any issues up until one month when it all spiraled. The best thing about the book was that it was set in Milwaukee (aside from trips to Chile, Cambodia, and Arizona).

I found the premise to be so interesting. I was excited to read this book but I just feel like the main character and her emotions were so repetitive. The pacing was slow for a thriller with character development that made no sense to me. The author was obviously trying to build up sympathy and heartbreak but I just don’t think any of it landed. It was very tell, no show.

I don’t believe in their friendship. Also she left without her license and credit cards and didn’t notice. Even through two airports…

I love thrillers, but this one made me extra anxious for some reason so kudos.

Good slow burn unraveling the story. The end seems to take a strange left turn that wasn’t as satisfying as I wanted. But overall, great story.

Absolutely thrilling! Just when I thought I’ve figured out the plot, another twist comes your way.
