“She looks like my own fucking angel. Broken wings and all.”
-Eli King
That! That right there! Who wouldn’t want a love like that?! Eli made a few appearances in the other books in this series but we never got to know him, like in depth. He had my head spinning and going WTF!? But man oh man, does he love Ava. The things that this man did in the past and continues to do for her currently blew all my expectations out of the water, especially since he was compared to Lan so many times. His protectiveness, obsessiveness, adoration, kindness, gruff, hard, assholeness was far better then expected and made me loves his character even more!
Ava, Ava, Ava! This girl reminds me so much of me in so many aspects. I love her growth, her development, her attitude, and the fact that she doesn’t stop until she gets what she wants! She loves Eli since she was a child, and even though he broke her heart she continued to love him until he eventually loves her back. Her struggles are those that I’m all to familiar with. Relating to her made me love this book even more because I feel a bond there.
I cannot say enough good things about this book! It wreaked me in the best way. Made my heart bleed and my soul explode. Plus the end of the book literally made my heart so happy!
And as always, Make sure to check your triggers!

I’d like to caveat this review with Eli is *not* a nice guy. I don’t read Rina Kent books because I think they’re about nice men, I read them because no matter how morally grey or depraved the men are, they would burn the entire world for the sake of their love interest.
Eli is that through and through.
The push and pull of him and Ava had me in a complete and utter chokehold from start to finish.
The shocks, the heartache and the pure anger and angst had my emotions in an absolute roller coaster, from crying to laughing and crying again.
Ava’s battle with her mental health and how Eli tried to do what was best for her even against the wishes of others and defended her every step of the way was written so beautifully.
This review is bittersweet for me, I loved this book but I didn’t want it to end, I didn’t want this series to end. The features and snippets of the characters I adore made this book all the more better.
I have loved every single book and character and I will miss them so much

I am not well after this one. God of War will live in my head rent free. This and God of Fury are now my Roman Empire. Rina Kent knows how to keep readers on the edge of their toes and normally I tend to read in my own order, this one requires reading of Cole and Silvers book Ruthless Empire.
Ava’s mental health was deteriorating all throughout the Legacy of Gods series and came to a head at the first few chapters of God of War. Eli’s obsession was also evident but finding out that Ava had lost two years of her life. Turns out it’s directly linked to Cole’s mom who tried to unalive Silver.
This one was so deep and engraved itself on my psyche.
