The first collaboration between Lee and Andrew, and I think that, once the torch has been fully passed, we will still have lots of the same two fisted action, as always.

This one? With no particular place to go, Reacher rolls into town, starts out helping some random guy, makes amazing leaps of deductive reasoning, and fights Russian ransomware hackers and punches literal Nazis.

Like every good hero should.

Always punch Nazis.

A fun romp, and it's nice to see that, with Andrew starting to take the reins, they are moving into more modern stories, but while Reacher remains his old Luddite self.

I did read some reviews of the book which said that the new co-author Andrew child was a bit wordy at times in opposition to how Jack Reacher normally is as a character. It was right, there were a few points in the book where there were a lot of extra phrases to explain what Reacher was thinking and planning. One of the hallmarks of the series is the economy of the writing and how it plays into how we perceive Jack.

Reacher is a character who is thinks but moves quickly when the time comes and it did seem as though technically speaking, he did too much talking in opportune moments where Reacher just acts. However, these things I think can be worked on as Andrew gets more comfortable with writing the character because the story and plot are solid Reacher material. There isn't a whole host of things to talk about and fuss with there. It may be a little overwrought but it isn't too egregious when it comes to Jack.

This is Reacher, but not as we know him

Reacher has changed. He talks.A lot.

Reacher over thinks. He cares too much, and he worries. This is not the Reacher we know.

Normally i fly through the Reacher books, however this took me a loong time to read.
