I love retellings but I’ve never read a Hades and Persephone one before. Oh my it was fantastic. I loved the characters and how dark and gritty the story is. The story really pulls you in, I sat down to read a couple chapters and next thing I knew I was 50% in.
Hades is just fantastic. So dark and I loved getting in his head.
Highly recommended!

Hades & Persephone
I love anything that has to do with Greek mythology and I’ve been getting more and more into darker romances. I’ve had this book forever and now that there’s a boxset of this trilogy out, at a discounted price for a short time, I decided to see if it was something I wanted to immerse myself in. I so want but like Persephone, I feel a bit depraved craving more because this book really toes the line for me when it comes to consent and yet I couldn’t stop reading it.
This is a retelling of Hades and Persephone but in modern times. Hades, the king of the underworld and Persephone, Demeter’s sheltered daughter and the goddess of spring growth. In this retelling, Persephone wants to escape from the prison she feels she’s being kept in and run away to the city with a boy named Decker but things don’t go as planned and Persephone gives herself to Hades to save Decker’s life. Persephone has heard all her life how evil and depraved Hades is but there is something about him that intrigues her. Just like Hades is drawn to her despite trying to stay away.
This ends in a cliffhanger as it’s a trilogy. While trilogies aren’t my favorite, as long as they are all released and I can binge them then I find them quite enjoyable. Hades is ruthless at times and gentle at others and while I found a lot of what he did cruel, I also had a soft spot for him. I was amazed how much I could like such an anti-hero and I can’t wait to read more.

What did I just read?
I thought I'd read pretty much every version of this story. I was wrong. How this author managed to make this current with the original characters? My mind is blown. She's and Hades on a phone together?!? What? Both of them still ruling their precious domains.. The world-building in this book blew my mind. I'm 10000% on board to find out what happens next.
The steamy interaction between these characters was titillating, to say the least. I wanted to get to the root of MR Hades. I wanted to understand Persephone and why her mother kept her in an almost-like lockdown.
I went and instantly bought the next books, despite having thousands of books on my TBR and having already spent my book money budget for the month. It's that good. If the rest of this author's books are this good, I'm a definite fan.

Not for me at all. Not into the degredation, and spelling/grammar errors.
The way I gasped at the end. OMG. Of course this book would end on a cliff hanger lol. It was so good though. I love all things Hades and Persephone, and this book did not disappoint. Dual POV, grumpy sunshine, he falls first, touch her a die, moody, and HOTTT. On to the next one....

I really didn't enjoy this one and probably won't go into the next one. It fell a little flat.
It was okay but nothing wow about it that gripped me enough to go to the next one
