A wonderful tale of survival and the resilience of the human spirit, all packaged in a dramatic adventure form. The passages regarding Friday and the Carib natives will make modern readers uncomfortable (references to "savage creatures" and a general tone of white moral superiority), as may some of the overtly Christian reflections. However the book is a product of its time and has much more to offer. Most of all, it was just good entertainment with enough action to maintain interest.

was reading the moonstone by willkie collins and the narrator keeps saying, whenever i have troubles i pick up robinson crusoe and read it and it soothes my mind so i stopped reading the moonstone and started reading crusoe and HE WAS RIGHT. defoe is awesome. the gringo cervantes.

So incredibly boring

This was a interesting read. Short and does not go into great depth. I laugh at how fast he taught Friday to speak English.
I found this is based on a true story. The life of Alexander Selkirk, though this sometimes argued.

The ending and the bear and the wolves I found silly. Good story though.
