We had this book in our 6th grade English Lit. and 6th grade me always thought wow what a masterpiece. Any story about a person being stranded on an island in hopeless situations has me by my neck. I'll admit that.
But...

Get this, Robinson Crusoe gets stranded on an island because his ship sank and he happens to be the only person that survived. Why was he on that ship? Mf wanted slaves for his plantation. Listen, i get that this book is from another time and period and people had different beliefs and yada yada but i say he deserved whatever came his way. That racist piece of shit deserved to rot on that island but guess what? nothing could've happened to him because he had his Bible so he was fine. Yep.
I guess it's a nice book if you can overlook a number of things and close your eyes when he starts saying dumb and random shit.

sadly just nothing about this interested me at all. which is disappointing for one of the first english novels ever. i wanted to give it more credit for the fact that class discussions have at least been interesting, but i think should give that to my professor and peers and not the book. just so… eh whatever.
