I don't understand the high reviews for this one. The characters were so dry, so wooden. I didn't even like Isabel, the heroine, until the very end. Their conversations even seemed wooden and not always how people would actually talk in real life.

This is one of the few books I've read where I feel synesthesia comes into play. The entire time reading it the whole story was in black and white. It never got into color like most of the 4-5 star reviewed books I read do. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Anyway, I think this book was more like a 2.5 stars but I rounded up.

What did Isabel get herself into? Was fate brought Sidney?

I was hooked from the beginning. I enjoyed the whole thing. I became invested in Isabel and Sidney. I wanted to see them through to the end of the book.

The end of the book brought tears to my eyes, bringing a very real life situations to the pages.
I really enjoyed this quaint little romance.
