I was so disappointed with the second book it took me months after this was published before I bothered with it, and even then I needed to read a bunch of review to assure myself that I wasn't going to let my heart into wrong hands again.
Well, it was worth it. Simon and Baz are together and they're happy and nothing will bother them. The beginning of the book is slow, split into three different plots, and I'm gonna dock one start for the Penny plot (I love Penny but I just did not like Sheppard even though he was mean to be the most lovable of them all). I was confused about Agatha's plot but it turned out to be super lovely, and I believe she's genuinely going to the happiest of them all (I want her life!).
Simon and Baz parts I inhaled - they were just lovely. I love Simon's progression of "oh this is hard" to "it's hard but I'm gonna do it" - felt real. What I didn't like so much was
I actually teared up in the end - found families are great, but this had already fallen apart, It was a good ending to a very uneven series.

his naiveté of how sex with a man works... He'd already had sex with Agatha, and let me tell you when a horny teenager wants to have sex they will find a way! I'm all for taking it slow but I wish there had been a nice reward for the reader in the end. They should have gotten there.I actually teared up in the end - found families are great, but this had already fallen apart,

so Simon actually finding his real family was truly amazing, and I loved Lady Ruth.
Carry On should've been a standalone. That being said I did stay up till 4 am to finish this so take that how you will.
This was so good and such a perfect ending to the series. I really enjoyed rereading the whole series for Pride month and revisiting my favorite vampire and mage gay duo.
This trilogy only got better as it went on! This was such a lovely end to this story- I wish all of them were as long as this one. All the bigger loose ends from the first two were (pretty much) tied up, and it felt like an honest end for all the characters. All in all, these books were a really fun read ❤️ READ BETWEEN THE SPINES AUG 2023
Was the goat the chosen one? Is that my take away here? Or Eb? Either way, I'm glad it didn't break my heart like I thought it was going to but I'm sad to be done with this world.
Dnf’d at like 22 percent- after the 20 page break up I was done
