I don't know if it's because of my age or because I'm a father, but there was parts of this where the kids just irritated me to no end. Loads of tantrums and whining. I know the point of this, and the story overall was quite enjoyable. This is one that you don't have to like to enjoy for me. I'll honestly likely read it again some day, to see if my appreciation changes.

I can’t believe I’ve never read this. Little Lilah would have adored this book - I adored it as an adult.

A little too strange and too Christian
I read this book in no time. Once I started reading, I noticed how fast I could read. Of course, the big font of this edition [movie edition] helped a lot on that part since you flip the pages very quickly.
Overall I did like the story. It's a fun read, but it's very obviously middle grade. I don't usually read any MG so I had to adapt a bit there. I know that had I read it years and years ago, childhood me would have loved a novel like this. Adult me? Well, I liked it but that's about it.
However, I can definitely see how the movie adaption can be amazing. This story has so much potential for that and I hope - fingers crossed - that it's going to be as brilliant as I'm expecting it to be. Even though the book wasn't exactly my style, I'm hoping that the movie will be!
[This might be the first time that I'm actually hoping and am half convinced I'm going to like the movie adaption better than the book. Shoot me.]
3 / 5!

A fun children's Niven that I will likely read to my own kids one day.
reading this as an adult is very different than as a kid. it has great storyline but the science facts seemed randomly thrown in and juvenile and the religious themes were cheesy. also the random quoting got very annoying

A Wrinkle in Time remains a classic for a reason; its themes of individuality, embracing your faults, and working together, combined with truly fascinating worlds and iconic character designs, are properly timeless. Memorable and sweet, if not a bit dated at this point, I well enjoyed experiencing this book again, this time in audio form!
I really wanted to see the new movie and I always like to read the book first... but this book was a bit of a head scratcher to me. I had a hard time getting into it and once I did it seemed to be just ending. I know it’s a classic and beloved by so many. It missed the mark for me. Or I missed the mark for it.
