I loved the first half of this book - the when I first learned of the Murrys with Meg up in her attic bedroom riding out a storm. I love how different the family is from others. Then the tasseract came up and bam the story morphed into something else entirely. If I was younger, I think I would have liked this story more and would have been more impressed, but as an adult I'm a bit disappointed. I will hang onto this book so my children can read it in a few years and I can't wait to see what they think of it and we can discuss it.

So well written. I wish they made kids books like this now.

I would have been obsessed with this book if I had read it when I was young and I can't believe I didn't read it. No wonder it is a favorite of many!

My first audiobook...ever. This was an interesting story, darker than I imagined, but a great way to get through my longish commute. I need to give Deanna a tip of the hat for pushing me hard enough to finally try an audiobook.

It was okay. I was kind of bored. It was a quick listen available on Libby when I needed something, and it's a classic, so I listened to it. But I didn't find myself wanting to come back to it.

Very whimsical and fantastical. I think this could be a fantastic kids movie. There were a lot of interesting things happening, but there wasn't enough visual description to help me "see" it. Just a lot of telling instead of showing. I didn't feel immersed in it, and I had no idea what most of the characters or scenery looked like.

I initially related to the little girl, as I had felt like she did too growing up, and I liked her brother. But I didn't really feel connected to the characters. Then it ended really abruptly. I don't know. It has a lot of potential, it just didn't have a lot of the elements I enjoy in a book.
