I hated the way this was written. it reminded me of a fanfiction that an inexperienced writer wrote. too many unnecessary explanations and obvious “twists”. trying to explain the crush developing but in a way that makes you cringe and not feel any emotions. also, two of the main characters are extremely unlikable and/or cringey. I’ll admit the last 50 pages or so were pretty good but still really easy to guess what was gonna happen. bummed this was deemed hoovers best book. now i don’t imagine myself reading the others.
