Reread because this is one of the best series of all time… I LOVE GARRETT GRAHAM. Seriously on my wedding day if he comes to crash the party I’m leaving my fiancé at the alter, no questions asked 🫡

Reread 1/3/24

Still 4.5 stars, rounded up. This is a book I love, not a perfect book. Granted, the first 80% or so is damn near perfect, but I don't love the necessary conflict. That being said, I do appreciate that it didn't get, like, super angsty or anything. And I still always finish the book when I reread. Garrett is just one of my favorite heroes ever. He's funny and sweet and he doesn't take himself too seriously. And I like Hannah too, though not quite as much as Garrett.

This one is just quite simply one of my faves. If I am being completely honest though, I like [b:The Score|44593125|The Score (Off-Campus, #3)|Elle Kennedy|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1553565141l/44593125._SY75_.jpg|45217167] a teensy bit better, so that will probably be next reread - to see if that is still the case.

SpoilerAlso, I didn't say this the first review I made, and I should have - trigger warning for sexual assault/rape, in the past

4.5 "fluffer" stars!
This book was just what my soul needed; light, cute, and fun. There was necessary conflict to keep the storyline progressing, but you never really doubted the MCs devotion to each other.

The funnest part was watching them get there, though. This is a friends-to-lovers story, and for anyone that hasn't experienced that situation, it isn't as easy as some might think. It may *feel* natural, but the fear of losing that friend can also be very strong. You even start to wonder if maybe having them in your life as a friend is best-case scenario, and you don't want to fuck it up by adding romance to the mix. So, I completely understand their hesitance. That being said, Hannah got on my nerves sometimes, but not enough to dislike her.

For the most part, I loved Hannah. She was her own person, so strong but so realistically self-conscious. Garrett? Fucking loved him SO MUCH. They were both hilarious, and their banter was golden, but Garrett had me laughing out loud more than once. He also was so caring and protective. He didn't realize how lonely his existence was until Hannah came along, and by that point, I just wanted to give him a hug for all he had been through.

The only reason this is 4.5 instead of 5 is because the ending was both rushed and predictable. I was hoping for a little more originality. Hannah had been so level-headed until that point, and it seemed out of character for her to do what she did. Regardless, like Garrett, I understand why she did it. Also, a part of me is glad there wasn't some huge shit show of a love triangle or something. That wouldn't have been believable, not for the journey their characters had taken.

“Just in case you were cozying up to me because you thought I was some heiress, you should know that I’m at Briar on a full scholarship, and I get financial aid for expenses. My family is broke.”
“Get out.” I point to the door. “Seriously. Get out.”

9/10 - ok so my review for this book is torn bc i loved this book, loved the story line, but ooof at times this book was hard to read, like i needs a giant trigger warning written all over it bc those were HEAVY topics, but the representation and the way it was written was beautiful, and you really understand what the characters feel in those situations, so 9/10 just bc i think it needs a giant READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING THIS BOOK
