I did win this book on a Goodreads giveaway so Thank You to them for picking me as a winner. I won this book awhile good but am only getting to it now because there were a lot of books on my tbr when I won this book, now my tbr is a little better. Since I've put myself on a book buying ban.

A lot of people seem to be rating this book four stars , which I am glad but it was a very good and enjoyable read. I really enjoyed this book, it was very fast paced and I liked how short the book was. It was a very engaging read. This book has a lot of domestic violence while your reading it. It was a very intriguing read. I think I am going to try and read one of her other books that she has out already. Liam seems like a good kid and the dad was hard on him for no reason. You should trust your kid enough to know that he did not do it. I read this book in I think 2 days, which is very quick. If you like short books that are face paced and a thriller this is the book for you. I honestly did not expect that ending but I was happy with the outcome. The ending of this book I was very happy with, she got what she deserved.

I really didn’t like the way domestic violence was used as such a focal point of this book. I understand that’s my own issue but felt that it could have been done in a better way.

I really loved Ryan’s debut novel, HIDDEN LIES, (child talks to his imaginary friend but are they really imaginary?) so I couldn’t wait to read this one.

Chilling, unnerving + gripping, this was a super binge-able page turner at just over 250 pages, making it a super quick and exciting read. The plot switches between the past + present, as we unfold Amy’s mysterious, troubled younger years, and see her try to navigate a nanny job that’s not as straightforward as it seems. I was equally invested in both timelines and found them both pacy + addictive.

I didn’t love this quite as much as HIDDEN LIES, but I did read it in one sitting and would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick, thrilling, character-driven domestic thriller!

This was creepy and sinister and I was fully convinced I had the plot twist figured out, only to be totally wrong! It was fast-paced and if I had been able to finish in a single sitting, I definitely would have! Many of the chapters end on cliffhangers, making it an unputdownable read. If you're looking for your next bingeable thriller, at 253 pages, I definitely recommend this one!

Favourite quote: "We can't go back," said Amy. "There's no point wishing. We're here now. The only way we can go is forward."
