I listened to this and I didn't like how the narrator read for Ellie. I also didn't like the characters very much. I liked the other books in this series better.

I'm really enjoying this series. Just a light, easy to read book. These are always good to read if you need a break from something heavy! Looking forward to the next book.

Love Letters is the third book in Macomber's Rose Harbor novels set at the Rose Harbor Inn in Cedar Cove and takes place over one weekend. Innkeeper Jo Marie is still mourning the death of her husband Paul, but she's also slowly moving toward a relationship with handyman Mark Taylor. Inn guest Ellie has come to Cedar Cove to meet Tom, a man she connected with online, despite her mother's loud protestations. And married parents Maggie and Roy hope that a weekend at the inn will help them get past the problems in their relationship and rekindle their romance.

While I did think that Maggie and Roy's story resolved a little too conveniently, I completely loved everything else about the novel, and I cannot wait to find out where Jo Marie and Mark's story goes from here. (I literally yelled, "That's it?!?" as I read the last page. Way to make me want to come back for more, Ms. Macomber ...)

Jo Marie's story is the only one that weaves through all the novels in the series, while the other stories are fully resolved in each novel. You could probably read each novel as a stand alone if you wanted to, but I would recommend reading them all to get Jo Marie's full story! 4-1/2 stars.

Third installment of the Rose Harbor Inn series and its drawn me in again. Jo Marie has more guests on her hands that each seem to be dealing with their own problems while she deals with her grief and issues with her feelings for Mark. Handyman mark has definitely sparked my interest and Jo Marie's.

Half-Baked

While I love the concept that Rose Harbor Inn brings healing to its guests, I was not getting along with our two POV. Such DRAMA involved in both of them. But the possibility of Jo Marie and Mark the handyman?? I’m here for it

lighthearted medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I like these books because they are easy, light reads.  They are always predictable but this one just seemed more so.  I liked the storylines but I didn't love that I could see where they were going almost from the first chapter of each.  I did like the continued development between Mark and JoMarie.  Again, predictable but I'm glad it's taking a few books to get there.  So, I didn't love this one but I didn't hate it enough to drop the series and move on.

Good audiobook to listen to while driving, waiting to hear what happens with Mark in book 4.

Love Letters, book three of the Rose Harbor series, was another great read for me.
I love that each of these novels not only tell Jo Marie’s story, but introduces new characters and tells their stories as well.
This book brings in the Porter couple and Ellie, a young girl meeting a man she has been communicating with for the first time. These characters come to Jo Marie’s Inn and immediately you were drawn to their stories.
The Porter’s, Roy and Maggie, are going through a difficult time in their marriage and you can’t help but allow your heart to go out to them and their situation. The emotions flood you, both good and bad.
Ellie has been communicating with a guy named Tom via the internet and phone calls and she is meeting him in person for the first time. Secrets are exposed though and her story is as much of a roller coaster ride as the Porter’s.
As for Jo Marie? She’s living life and still adjusting to the loss of her husband and everything her bed and breakfast, and her guests demand from her. This book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger though when it came to Jo Marie’s story, so I’m anxious to read the next book.
One thing I love about this series and I may have mentioned it before is the fact that each book is three stories in itself, wrapped into one novel. It makes for a fun, emotional read and I love that about Debbie’s books. Looking forward to the next one!

I was finally able to finish the Rose Harbor series with the middle book.

Since the series centers around Jo Marie and Mark, and I already knew what happened between them, it was nice just to focus on the Inn's guests and their stories, which I enjoyed.
