I so need the next book now! K.A. Linde has killed me with this series already and I am dying to see what will happen next and where she will take us with this storyline. I am so in love with this world she has created. I am intrigued and hanging on the edge of my seat through the entire story. The twists and turns have definitely left me needing more. Even if PNR is not your first choice, you so need to read this series. It still has that angst that you come to expect from K.A. Linde and I have found myself completely involved in these characters' stories.
This is the second book in K.A. Linde’s Blood Type series and after reading the first one on Netgalley a few months ago, I was so beyond excited for this one. I loved everything about the first book. The romance, the sex, the drama, the vampires, the whole set up of the blood match concept. It was all riveting and exactly the thing I love to read.
I was slightly let down by the first third of the novel. It focused a lot on the underground rebellion and less of Reyna and Beckham. In fact, Beckham was absent for most of it (I’m talking about after the first couple of chapters, obviously, for those who have read it. The first couple are a given). And when he was there...he wasn’t there. It reminded me a lot of Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games and Marie Lu’s Legend trilogy. The planning, the rebellion, Reyna needing protection. That’s not to say I don’t like the rebellion parts; I just don’t like it when they don’t include Beckham.
Which brings me to the rest of the book. Wonderful! Beckham and Reyna are so great together. I loved the drama and protectiveness by Beckham. The planning between them and Elle to takedown the villain was great. Penelope drove me insane, but we get a conclusion to that aspect of the story soon enough. The plot regarding the vampire lore and blood type stuff is amazing!! I can’t wait for book 3 to see how it all officially goes down regarding Reyna. I enjoyed how the author brought in the “special someone” trope without doing it so straight out. It’s a rarity and is only caused by blood and it calls them to one another, without being the whole “i love you because I am forced to”.
When I started the series I didn’t think it would go down the rebellion “Hunger Games” path. I thought it would stick to more of the lore and romance aspects, but I’m loving the direction these books took. I love that it isn’t strictly romance--that Reyna and Beckham are in something huge in their world and their fighting against it while fighting to be with each other. I’m so excited for August for the ending to this series. I can’t wait to see it all go down.
LIke the first novel, this one ends on a cliffhanger, so be careful! If I wasn’t so impatient I would have waited for all three to release before starting them, but damn Netgalley and its ARC of the first book got me way too into this series that when this one released, I HAD to start it ASAP.
Love it!

K.A. Linde has the ability to make me feel for most of her characters and Reyna is no exception. I should probably mention that both the author and I share a love of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. According to the note in Blood Match, it was the starting point for both of our loves of vampires. The difference is Ms. Linde is making sure that my vampire addiction is being met with some deliciously decadent vampire fantasies that Buffy could only dream of.
Becks is so much more than a vampire. He is her everything. In a world where very little has meaning and even fewer have power, their bond seemed to be more. One stupid act of fear brought it all crumbling down.
Reyna has to keep on surviving. She has to...for her, for Becks, for her family. If only it were that easy. Being at the mercy of the most vile being ever isn't exactly a walk in the park.
Blood Match is the second in the series and its definitely got my attention. Blood Type snared my interest but Blood Match took my heart. Rebellion and the nerve to fight got her this far, Reyna is going to need something more to survive this.
While we gear up for Blood Cure, I'm going to buy chocolate and tissues. I am afraid of the 'bloody mess' this will make of me!

This one starts off right after book one's ending, it has a lot of plot progression and some sexy time between the two MC's. There is one hell of a cliffhanger at the end so I will be racing through book 3 to see how the story will resolve. Book 2 was a little better than book one because I liked the pace better.
"Blood Match" starts eight weeks after the exaggerated "Blood Type" cliffhanger and does so in a slow way, a bit narcotized, almost as much as its own protagonist.
The first thing that strikes about "Blood Match" is the change that Reyna does. In the review of the first book I told you that she reminded me of Tris of "Divergent", but - thankfully - the thing changes in this second volume because our protagonist takes more the features of a Katniss.
Reyna does not want to stand still and watch, she wants to act, she wants to be part of the change. She fights with her fingernails and with her teeth and does not care on who she will have to step on to achieve her goal.
Even Beckham changes a lot: he opens up, shows us something more - much more - of himself, no longer hides his feelings for Reyna and, indeed, celebrates them as only a man of other times could do.
And do you remember that thing that reminded me of "Twilight" I was talking about in the first volume? Forget it, because here we do not have amber eyes and vegetarian vampires. Here the blood flows and is a continuous temptation.
Speaking of the plot, the story takes a bit 'to get to the heart, but once you overcome the first fifty pages you will find in your hands a dystopian with the touch of urban fantasy that only vampires can give.
There is rebellion, spies, missions, battles, victories and losses.
There is eroticism.
There is the mystery of the blood.
And, of course, there is the cliffhanger that - again - leaves you to quiver for the next volume.

I can't even with this book! Linde has done it again and although this is a PA book, it still has all the angst in which she writes her other books. And i love it!!
After reading Blood Type I was so anxious to read the next book to see what would happen in the worlf of Reyna and Beckham. And I was not disappointed. While the first book established our characters and the world around them, we really get to dive into the story in Blood Match, as well as get to know some new characters that play an important part in their world.
I don't want to do a spoiler review but I will say that there are some amazing scenes that I read over and over again. And once again Linde has left us all on the edge of our seat.
If you don't finish this book and yell, scream or throw your kindle/book, then you have no heart!!! This book had my heart racing in so many places from anticipation and I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for the final installment. In all honesty I'm hoping that it doesn't end with book 3. I want to read more and more of these characters!!

This book was much better than the first one. It is no secret that I struggled a little bit with that but I am so glad I didn't give up on this series!
At the end of the last book Reyna runs away from Beckham and runs right into her kidnappers at Visage. They keep her as a captive and she is basically a blood bag for one of the most powerful vampires. This obviously sucks. She can't speak to anyone but I also thinks it opens her eyes to what is really going on. Her Naivety is what made me hate her in the first book but she is not so naive now. I actually enjoyed her in this book! Her character was so much stronger. I am excited to see her grow in the next book. Beckham.. well I still am not 100% on them. Yes the scenes with the two of them are hot but I hold grudges man. And he was just an ass. So I guess we will see how it goes in the next one.
A lot happens in this book. I do not want to give away anything but be prepared. In true Linde fashion the ending will make you want to scream. I am dyyyyyyying for the next book!
I received a copy of this book from the author.

This was a roller coaster ride. It was almost like Hunger Games meets Twilight without the sparkle. I found it to be a page turner. My only complaint is I didn't realize there would be a third book when I started it. The cliffhanger is very big and I wish I would have waited until the next book was out.
I added one more star than the first one because unlike the first book, more things actually happen in this book.
We have more action and small plot twits, betrayal and more
