Ugggghhh these books are so good! I cant wait to start the third one, it’s insane.

Just as compelling as the first book, but the flow is much smoother given that the heavy lifting of foundational world building was conducted in the first. The plot transitions the original conflicts from the first novel into a natural expansion of larger systemic issues and underlying schemes. A rare case where a book doesn’t suffer from middle book syndrome and exceeds the quality of the original. We get to reap the rewards of character growth in the first book and see much much more of the relationships between our main characters in book 2 and it’s amazing. I’m obsessed with the intricacy of Ren, Vargo, and Greys multiple overlapping interactions. 
For me this is a rare 5 star. It’s obvious the writers are very intelligent and masters at artfully crafting each side of a book trifecta: plot, world, and characters. Each is immaculate.
