Ahhh I loved this book so much! Houston and Amelia are such a great match. I was worried that this would be long drawn out will they/ won’t they but it wasn’t. It was perfection. (Except the fact Houston and Dallas were confederate soldiers, didn’t love that.)

This is a lovely romance book and I enjoyed reading it.

The hero Houston was wounded in the Civil War and goes to retrieve a mail order bride for his brother.

I've only read one other western and this is the first romantic western I've read so there were probably a lot of cliches (a stampede, a river crossing gone wrong) that were new to me.

The writing and dialogue at times were a bit corny at times, but the hero and the love story is so darling you don't mind.

This was a sweet, angsty romance.

I enjoyed listing to the audiobook while working.

It doesn't have much steam to speak of, but the romance was pretty beautiful.

I just can't give it more than 3 stars though, because if I wasn't reading for book club, I may have DNFd. Thankfully it was a fast listen.
