Really good 50 cent comic that I was able to pull out. Loved everything about this minus the text in script. Hard on the eyes. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Really interesting story. An 8 year old boy is obsessed with Batman comics because his name, like Batman's alter ego, is Bruce. One night, Bruce's parents are murdered in front of him and now more than ever does he connect to Bruce Wayne in the Batman comics. As the story progresses, a bat-like monster appears to keep Bruce "safe," but the interesting part about comics, the reader doesn't know if the bat-monster is real or from Bruce's imagination, manifested to appear real, as a coping mechanism. I think the story will continue to keep the readers guessing what's real and what's not in the following issues until the story's conclusion. It's an intriguing concept to have a young boy face the same dramatic situation as a comic-book character and question how to respond. Bruce states, "If Batman was real, if Batman had been there," suggesting Batman would could have stopped his tragedy. Does Bruce realize the world needs a Batman and decide to take up the mantle of the Bat like his comic-book hero, does he face reality and learn to cope with his tragedy, of does his mind break unable to deal with his loss and create a CREATURE OF THE NIGHT!
Really enjoyed this! I think it would be so easy for this to bad, but it's off to a promising start.
Although I should knock a star because of having to squint at that script text throughout the whole thing.

Really interesting concept, but not entirely clear on how we're supposed to take it. Will definitely read the next issue and hope it gives a better sense of intent.
