Following everything that I had learned about J.K. Rowling, I was apprehensive when I started reading this book. Luckily, I managed to separate the author from the book and I thoroughly enjoyed finally reading the last instalment in this magical series.

I thought that the build-up of the story was wonderful. All the 'mini climaxes' leading up to the final climax kept the book fast-paced and exciting and made it a difficult book to put down. I also loved how the different characters' arcs finally came to an end. Moreover, I thought it was fantastic how actions truly have consequences and the deaths gave the story a sense of realism and helped to build the tension.

My only two real negatives are that the epilogue raised more questions than answering them and that a certain character's redemption

was handled rather clumsily. Fortunately, these did not impact my overall enjoyment of the story too much.
