!! spoilers from the entire HP series !!
1 - Kreacher’s “redemption arc” was definitely unexpected but enjoyable.
2 - Justice for Draco!!! Draco shows some serious remorse and very clearly did not want to be doing the things he is forced to do. Starting in the sixth book he seriously struggles with the task (of un-aliving dumbledore) given by voldemort and expresses he does not want to do it, but feels he has no choice. Even, when the time comes he begins to lower his wand. Then, in this book not identifying Harry to his parents and bellatrix, when he very well knows that it was Harry… Ultimately leading the golden trio to their escape. The slight arc from villain to (definitely not hero or friend so I’ll call him)“acquaintance” was tasteful.
3 - Forever heartbroken by the loss of Hedwig, Dobby, Fred, Lupin and Tonks. But also, one thing that confused me was; Lupin asked Harry to be Teddy’s godfather but in the epilogue the kids refer to teddy as their cousin. Does this mean that teddy didn’t grow up with Harry as a godfather? As a godfather is typically someone that raises a child in the event something happens to their parents. Something that was touched on in book three when sirius asks Harry to come live with him. So teddy did not grow up with Harry, I guess rather tonk’s parents (I assume, aka will probably Google it after this)
4 - snape’s plottwist and memories is something that, to this day, *always* blows my mind.
5 - the entire chapter at kings cross, I did find and always have found a bit confusing. The entire bits about the ancient magic protection from Lilly sacrificing herself for Harry, I understood. I understood how Harry gave the same protection to all his friends/followers when he went to the forest to die. The bit that confuses me is why he *didn’t actually die* Dumbledore said something about how, when Voldemort used Harry’s blood to come back to a body (in book four) the protection lived on through Voldemort, but doesn’t make sense to me how Harry was then able to kill Voldemort, if Voldemort had said protection. (Anyways guess another thing for me to Google)
Overall 10/10 super enjoyed reliving my childhood through re reading these books and will definitely be making an effort to re read them again sometime in the future.

The whole wand ownership stuff is bs. Don’t ppl disarm eo 24/7 in book 5 during DA meetings? Not to mention Harry disarming like 50 people throughout the series. Wouldn’t he be the “true owner” of all those wands? But whatever I still love this series.

behold! the holocaust of the magic world!
if only the actual one had a Harry Potter to stop it sooner...
Well i'm proud to say after all this years that i've finally read Harry Potter and loved it of course.
I guess you're never too old to be a potterhead.

Note: I give the Harry Potter series as a whole a 5-star rating. The Deathly Hallows wraps up the series beautifully and is easily my favourite in the series.
Keeping this at a 5, but has so many moments that are either game breaking or make the rest of the books seem boring by comparison- it’s a difficult book to love, but it’s hard to hate too
