Simplistic in plot and characters but entertaining.

Little passages throughout the book suggest that a baby girl has been taken at birth. As the reader, getting a glimpse into the women’s lives on Pleasant Court can have you guessing who the troubled mother could be. But were your guesses right? Mine sure weren’t. Getting to the truth was difficult, as all of the women were troubled in some way…but in reality, aren’t all of our lives troubled, too? You truly never know what’s going on in someone’s head, or what they might have hidden away so well that they don’t even remember themselves.

The story revolves around four neighbors living in Pleasant Court in Melbourne. When a new neighbor, Isabella, moves into Essie, Fran and Ange’s neighborhood, all three women seem to take interest in Isabella but their curiosity results in resurfacing of old grudges and long-held secrets come tumbling out

Told from several POVs The Family Next Door by Sally Hepworth is a domestic suspense with lies , secrets and fears. It has great characters and is a highly entertaining emotional read and will look for reading more from this author in the future

I would like to thank St. Martin’s Press & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I always enjoy Sally Hepworth books and positively race through them, and this one was no exception. The reason I have to give it 3 stars is that I realised about halfway through that I had already read it and completely forgot it, and even then I couldn’t remember the twist!!! So even though I enjoyed it, it clearly didn’t stay with me the first time 😂

A glimpse into a neighborhood of dysfunctional people - what other kind is there really? It was a nice escape and the mystery part kept me guessing though not on the edge of my seat. A few plot twists that I found to be stretches but overall an enjoyable book.

Lots of the main characters superfluous to the story. Looks at a challenging subject but not sure it digs deep enough into the issue to justify the ending. Happy ending for happy endings sake

for the intense and suspense build up that it had that ending was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.
