I read up to the mid-season break.
I still love the art. It has changed a bit compared to the beginning of the story but since the change is gradual I barely noticed it.
Unfortunately, I developed some grievances with the story.
• I noticed that most scenes containing action are recollections told to the characters in the present. That device can be intriguing but has been overused for my liking.
• There is one small plot hole that really annoyed me: It was revealed that Kore had met Hades before their encounter in Olympus and potentially even fell in love with him then. This is not even hinted at in the first chapters of season one after she woke up in his house. How she acted and perceived their encounter should have been reflecting his failure to recognize her.
• Even though I enjoy most of the many characters, I am not fond of the many excursions into their snippets of lives since they are rarely followed up and mostly don't add to the main plot. Character development is also very slow or non-existent for some - looking at you, Apollo - so that it looks like they are perpetually running in circles.
• Even though I think the way the trauma of Persephone is portrayed is important and well done, I am really let down by the sad fact, that this plot is still at the center stage of the whole story while still not being addressed directly enough. The story has opened so many other issues and plot lines (and barely closed any) - but I can't enjoy any of them because of the gaping lack of resolution in this central problem. I feel that if it was merely planned to be one of the plot lines in the story, then it should have been somewhat resolved after some time - not that I mean she "should be over it" but at least have e.g. Apollo dealt with (pleeaaase). If this trauma is supposed to be the main plot - and it would deserve that spot, even though I would prefer other possible story lines as main plot - then I would like to have less side stories distracting from it (there are so many unimportant ones) and a bit of a deeper dive into the theme so that it doesn't feel like running circles. Maybe address the reoccurring theme of women taken against their will in Greek mythology. Also, why are all gods SHOOK when the traumatic encounter is addressed but Apollo is totally oblivious to his wrongdoing? Was he brought up in another society?
Unfortunately, I feel the story has lost its focus - a problem that I find to be happening quite often in comics or webtoons, especially when they are published in a weekly schedule and the author is incentivised to drag the story as long as possible. I failed to enjoy large portions of the second season and I think I won't be coming back to it.

Sooooo I finished out the season on WEBTOON, and Rachel, hunny, I am not okay!!!! How could you break my heart like this 😭😭😭
Read lore Olympus on WEBTOONs, and I’m on chapter 187! I’m sooo happy it’s getting a hard copy that I can actually shelve on my library. The romance and overall dynamic between Persephone and Hades is beautifully and delicately written. I love it!
