Loveless

Alice Oseman

4.26 AVERAGE

I think I expected too much. A lot of people find loveless the best Alice oseman book but I have to disagree. It’s definitely not bad, I loved it so so much but It’s just not as relatable as the others. I think if you’re aro/ace you will enjoy it more and would feel so seen. I think Alice did a fantastic job with representing struggling with finding your sexuality. I loved the side story of Pip and Rooney it’s just so beautiful. Loveless showed me that having friends around you is the most important thing in the world. I loved seeing Rooney and Georgia become so close and I felt kind of sad because I’ve been longing for such thing my whole life and I can’t seem to find it. This book is so sex positive and has a strong focus on friendships and different skin colours. The diversity is just amazing. Alice did such an amazing job with Georgia’s journey from frustration to confusion to self-acceptance regarding her sexuality it’s just so beautifully written. It was such a great read.

Alice oseman made me feel incredibly understood with her books and characters. If Nick, Charli, aled , tori, Frances and angel Were One person it would be me. Each of them has this thing they’re struggling with and I just feel so understood and accepted. Her characters made made me feel like I’m not the only one struggling through my teenage years. it’s not gonna be the last time that I’m going to read her books and I’m incredibly heartbroken that I finished all of her books. I feel so grateful that I found escapism in her books . I just cannot understand how she can represent teenagers so well. Her books brings you such a comfort and a safe environment when you’re reading which I have never felt so strong before. I’m so thankful for what these books showed me and taught me.

youthful, chaotic, and just endearing.
Georgia Warr has been obsessed with fanfiction, romance movies, and just love in general but when it's her turn to experience it, she realized she couldn't. In the course of the whole book, we follow this girl's self-discovery journey(as well as a few others) and I find it really cute. I believe this is an accurate depiction of how the discovery of being aromantic and/or asexual since I pretty much experienced most of it and I applaud Oseman for that. Not only that, the cast is really diverse and it actually feels like it's real. The writing is well-done. I was put off at first about how casual it is but I think it really shows Georgia's thought process as a young adult. Overall, reading this book was really enjoyable, especially the second half(felt like it was a bit of a drag at the start) and I'm glad to explore how another aro ace person's self-discovery journey was.

The characters could be frustratingly juvenile but I ended up becoming emotionally attached despite my annoyance. This was a feel-good, coming of age story with the characters understanding their sexualtiy (specifically aro-ace for MC Georgia) and making mistakes along the way. The friendships and platonic love at the center was very sweet, and the representation thoughtful. I would've loved this at 18.

Whatta story!!!!!

It was such a fresh, liberating and an eye-opening story!!! Loved it to bits! ^_^ Gonna read more of Alice Oseman's works.
