5/5 ⭐️s
Jensen and Tuck were such a close second to being my favorite of the series. I LOVED their story. Brother's best friend will always get me and this story did not disappoint. I love when the brother's best friend is always the protector of the little sister - JUST GETS ME.
These two were perfection and the "always been you" aspect was *chefs kiss*.
- romantic suspense
- single mom
- brother’s best friends
- "always been you"
-childhood friends to lovers

Jensen & Tucker are ADORABLE together. I absolutely love this brothers best friend / childhood friends to lovers / it's always been you romance!!!!
Jensen has had terrible taste in men, like awful. The dad to her Lil man is a gambling addict. The next BF that we knew about was a murderer. So she is super skeptical about letting anyone else in, rightfully so. But she also carries guilt around with her of the deaths of the young women that her 2nd BF murdered (see book #1). She is also a huge advocate for the wild horses & the land that they need to stay wild.
She has such a kind & tender heart.
Tucker is phenomenal & so stinking sweet. He had a rough childhood, carrying around the secret that his dad is consistently cheating on his mom. Turns out - Mama knew the whole time. It was a serious blow to Tucker because he thought he was protecting his mom. Dad was a mean drunk & overall mean man with the cheating & emotional abuse. I liked watching him evolve into a more confident version of himself.
The 3rd act breakup was rough for me. It didn't last long, but still.
The rancher drama was intense!!! All this over some land!? Holy crudsticks. I wonder if my small town has this much drama. Lol

I was so stoked for this installment in the Sutter Lake Series. Ever since book one, I could sense a connection between Jensen and Tuck and was chomping at the bit to get to their book. I was not disappointed at all. This gave me what I wanted it to give; tension between the two MC’s, an interesting story, and an MMC who absolutely is down BAD for his lady and would do anything to keep her safe. Catherine Cowles delivered with this one, for real.
Tuck has been a part of the Cole family by extension, he’s Jensen’s brother’s best friend, but he’s also got his own thing going with Jensen. The two of them have a special connection that’s always been apparent to everyone around them. But now, the energy between the two of them is different. Tuck has always known that if he could commit to any woman it would be Jensen, but he’s terrified of becoming his father. He knows she’s bound to meet another man and have her HEA and that would kill him, but he’d step back and let her be happy. It was supposed to be casual between them, but they’re starting to realize it will never be casual when it comes to the two of them.
Highlights:
📌Brother’s Best Friend
📌Childhood Friends to Lovers
📌 Small Town
📌Romantic Suspense

Another amazing story by Catherine. I have been dying for tuck and Jensen's book from the start and it did not disappoint. My heart broke for tuck but the ending was perfection and it's always a bonus to see some more of walker. Looking forward to the next book of the series

1/5🌶️
Jensen has been put through the ringer and she feels like she cannot trust herself where a romantic partner is concerned, so she decides that part of her life is done, that is until one day she starts feeling things for Tuck, her childhood friend and her brothers best friends. So one day everything happens and they end up in a friend's with benefits kinda situation, what she doesn't know is that Tuck had been in love with her for a while but the poor guy feels like he is not made for a relationship due to family trauma, but many things keep bringing them together
