Ms. Cowles is a master of romance with a healthy dose of suspense thrown in. This third book in the Sutter Lake series is as engaging and enthralling as the previous books in this series. This is a standalone book, but reading the previous books in the series, help provide depth and background to the characters. The book is so descriptive that you can truly imagine yourself in this beautiful town and out on the farm with Jensen and her herd.
Tucker Harris has been in Jensen's life since she was born. As her older brother's best friend, he has always been around and protected her as if she were his sister. But as his feelings for Jensen grow, he tries to quash them, because she is his best friend's sister, and that makes her off limits. But when circumstances force them together, sparks turn into fireworks and there is no holding back. As their past comes back to haunt them, both Jensen and Tuck worry that they are making the same mistakes as before and refuse to acknowledge what they feel inside.
Beautifully Broken Spirit is beautifully written, with characters that make you love them and want to see them overcome all obstacles, this story sucks you in from the very first page. LOVED IT!!

“Every time I touched you three times. Every time I squeezed your hand three times. Every time I kissed each temple and your forehead. That’s what I was telling you. One touch for each word I couldn’t say.”
Easily my favorite and the best book in the series so far!!! It's kind of annoying how every single book in this series up till now has had a kidnaping trope, but other than that, this book has surpassed the other two in every way. Tucker and Jensen were absolutely everything, I adored them!
I LOVE Jensen and Tuck! It was rude that I had to wait until book #3 in the series but all is forgiven because their story was my favorite out of this series. Brothers best friend is chefs kiss!

4.5 stars!!! Loved Jensen and Tuck :)
Catherine has once again made me see why she is one of my favorite new authors!
For anyone who has read this series (and if you haven't, I hardly recommend it!!), I was patiently waiting for Jensen and Tuck's story <3 I always felt the pull between then and couldn’t wait for this book!
We know Jensen is still feeling guilty for everything that happened to Taylor and Walker in Beautifully Broken Pieces. She just can’t get past the guilt. Tuck has been there for her but she has stayed to herself. Tuck we learn a little more about. He is dealing with some issues with his father that makes him think he is no good for any woman. He has been in love with Jensen and Jensen and been in love with him, yet the two of them keep it to themselves.
While all of this is going on, there is danger lurking. With all of that going on, I loved seeing Jensen and Tuck get closer and finally give into what they were feeling. Now the question is, how does it all play out? Will Jensen and Tuck get their HEA?
This is one of my favorite series and I can’t wait for the next book. We are introduced to some new characters and they’re story is up next. Knowing Catherine, it will be another hit.

I wanted to read more of Tuck and Jensen's relationship developing at least in their childhood, but that was missing. I liked the relationship between Noah and Tuck though.

This book is absolutely suspenseful and beautiful. It is sexy and swoony. It is definitely everything I have been looking for in a story. I am embarrassed to say that this is my first book by this author. It will not be my last though. I look forward to going back and reading more from this author and I am excited to see what she has in store next.

I have a love hate relationship with brother's best friend tropes. Especially, if the relationship started out when the characters were young and grew up like siblings. However, this book was on the better side of things. It never felt dirty. I'm glad, because I really liked these characters. Jensen had a hard time of it and I was ready for her to heal. I loved watching her with the horses and how it was healing for both the hoses and her. I also liked Tuck as a character. Surprisingly, the fact that these characters had grown up together as fist a bro/sis, friend, and eventually a lover helped enhance their story.
I'm glad that I gave this story a chance. I do, however, wish certain things had been fleshed out. Namely, Rick's relationship with his father. It didn't seem to fit the story or enhance it in anyway. The resolution at the end just felt like filler and that bothered me.
