Denton and May are already insanely talented authors on their own. However, when they write a book together it seems that they can combine their strengths and deliver even better stories, even better books, even better characters. And since I discovered that I really love books set in the Omegaverse I was really excited when I discovered that Denton and May were gonna write one together! Last week the paperback became available and yesterday I just had to start reading.

I don't think I've read that many books as intense and emotional as this one. The start already gave me shivers, and this time of the wrong kind, but that was also what the authors clearly intended. But I've been reading a big part of the book with the tears burning in my eyes. And that's a good thing. It's a very good thing. This story was heavy at times, cruel and dark and therefore also very sad. But since I felt that I was constantly on the brink of crying meant Denton and May wrote the story right.

Just like a lot of Omegaverse books the plot isn't that big. The story isn't really action-packed. I don't mind. The focus is completely on the characters and that's the part of a story I care about most. I want to get to know the characters, I want to grow attached to them, I want to feel for them, I want to root for them. And I so did in this story. If there was ever a bunch of characters I just wanted and needed to be happy, it was this bunch.

It's quite clear that our heroine has not had the easiest life. Her boyfriend was coerced to leave her behind to go to college and get a taste of life before settling and then she ended up in the claws of a terrible Alpha. Within a few chapters I already wanted to wrap my arms around her, hold her and take her somewhere safe. I was therefore quite glad that, since I couldn't do so, she eventually had the guys doing it for me. She deserved it. She deserved it so so much.

Okay, so, Broken Howl started off on a good start with me. I was completely sucked into this world and wanted to get to know more about Teegan. The whole situation she was thrown into by her dad and the alpha douche canoe was completely shitty. So, when things hit the fan, she knew what she had to do next.

Honestly, I should applaud her for trying to get far away from this shifter community. Especially when you think of how manipulative and shitty Alpha Steele was. It just sucks that her so called "fated mates", yes you read that right - mates, basically assumed the worst things and didn't trust her. Which, yes, I get it. They were completely butt hurt that she flat out rejected them but what those selfish assholes didn't understand was what happened when they were all freaking gone. FOR YEARS.

So, yeah, when the truth came out, I just wanted to slap them all for being so stupid. Seriously, they all deserved a good bitch slap in my eyes. Then the drama, and lots of random ass assassins, came their way.

In the end, it was an okay book, but I was really frustrated and annoyed with everyone involved. Like wanting to throat punch them, repeatedly.

Great standalone!

This book was funny, emotional and just awesome. I loved Teegan, Jake and Dallas immediately but Soren and Crew had to grow on me. By the end though I loved them all. Definitely worth the read.

A rejected mates book where the female actually rejects the males? Sign me up.

This was a great stand-alone within the Reject Island universe. Some parts of the plot seemed rushed but overall the flow and pace worked well for the story.

I easily devoured this book in one sitting and just had to know what happened next. This author duo creates such captivating stories when they work together and I knew this would be no different. It wasn’t the deepest plot with the most twists and turns but it was very entertaining and kept me interested the whole time.

This was beautiful

I hate that Teagan ha to suffer for so long. My girl T got four mates! A girl could dream. This was hot! A roller coaster of emotions and revenge never felt so sweet! I’m glad they found love within each other! This book was awesome from beginning to end!

HOT AF Standalone...!

Be sure to read the trigger warnings at the start of the book, but once you are past that, be prepared for some heat.
A short, sweet and steamy read; combined with action, emotion, humour and likeable personalities.
Perfect for fans of omegaverse!
