Perfect.
Perfect blend of romance, spice, backstory, pace, and a bit of thriller we all love in the dark romance genre???
I didn't think I'd like Silver and Cole's book as much as I do, especially with it having some type of familiar ties (it doesn't, they're stepsiblings). But I don't know, I like how deep Silver's character actually is, and how she keeps up this "queen bitch" front, but obviously feels awful about it.
AND THE EPILOGUE JUST BUMPED THIS BOOK TO A 5 STAR RATING! It was so adorable, and just AHHHH!!!
I cannot wait to read the epilogue book before moving on in the Rinaverse!

Plot twist at the end was what pushed this from a 4.2 to a 4.5/5 star book for me. Another Rina slay
Rina Kent is one of my all time favorite dark romance authors and I just eat up every book she writes. I’m going through this whole series and trying to go with the reading order since I started off on the wrong book, but nonetheless all her books are amazing.
As for the couple is this book I did not enjoy Cole and Silver as much as I enjoyed the other couples. Don’t get me wrong I still love these two, but didn’t enjoy their storyline as much as the others.
The romance was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The spice level is

This book has me conflicted. I have issues with certain subplots that Kent seems to be obsessed with and, from the previous books, I was fascinated by Cole Nash and had high expectations. This book would sometimes blow it out of the water, and, other times, fall short. I was very torn on how to feel about it and while it honestly was not my favorite, the plot twist I TRULY did not see coming. Hell, it still took me to the end of the chapter to realize who it was, because of how unexpected it was.
As I mentioned in another review, while Kent is a mastermind in coming up with plot twists, she tends to fall short when it comes to head. The development differs from amazing to a bit drawn out, but when you finally reach that moment of disbelief, when the truth is laid bare and you truly did not see it coming, its suddenly wrapped up and the book ends swiftly. Because of the level of her “plot twist”, you would think a few chapters would be dedicated to it but she really wraps it all up in one.
So while it was a shock and awe moment, finishing the book feels a bit unfulfilling.
Book is really like a 2.5, maybe just a 2. The extra star was thrown in solely because of that plot twist.
