Scarlet is bound by a blood contract to marry a man she doesn’t really know. Because of this contract, her nightmares begin to feel more realistic. In them, she meets three new monsters who are all searching for their mates. As things unfold, she becomes conflicted about her own feelings and starts questioning what’s real and what isn’t. Are these monsters just part of her dreams, or could they actually exist?
I listened to this as an audiobook. Thanks to J.R. Thorn and her team, I received a copy of Their Blood Queen to review. I feel like this audio book makes the book much more engaging, as this was a huge strenght to keep me hooked on the story. The voice actors did an amazing job with the characters, and I honestly believe I liked them more because of how well they were performed.
The spicy scenes were surprisingly well done. I'm usually not a fan of listening to that kind of thing since it’s often awkward or poorly written, but luckily that wasn’t the case here. Still, I definitely looked around in the train hoping no one could hear what I was listening to. A monster going down on a human girl in her dreams is not something I want blasting through my headphones in public.
One downside for me was how little we saw of the other two mates until pretty late in the book. The pacing felt off and dragged at times. I would’ve loved more of Saber and Cage. They just didn’t get enough chapters or development compared to the others.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. Even though Saber and Cage didn’t get the attention they deserved, the story still kept me engaged. I’m pretty sure I would’ve DNF’d it if I had read the ebook, so I really recommend the audiobook version for this one.
Also, just a heads up: this is part of a multi-author universe. From what I gathered in the bonus scenes, Their Blood Queen is connected to the Monster Night series, which involves other authors too. I haven’t read the others, so I can’t say much about that part, but I think this book stands well on its own.
So to finish of my ramble about this book. I recommend this book for all the monster lovers out there, but also if you appreciate a good acted out book.

I read this on KU while listening to the audiobook, and I am UNWELL! What am I supposed to do with my life now?! I didn't even realize how consumed I was by the audiobook/ebook until I got to the end.
The narrators did such a great job of bringing the story to life, and it felt like it could even be a movie if you let your brain wander just a bit! 😄
THEY USED WHAT FOR LUBE?! (iykyk)
If you like audiobooks, dream eater vibes, monsters, Why-choose with MM content included (It was HOT and detailed to the perfect level for me), amazing writing, and voice narration - LET THIS BE THE ONE YOU GET!!!! Check out the content warnings before you dive, but definitely give it a shot. The vulnerability in the characters, even through their 'monster' was perfect and each character was unique. Oh what it'd be like to be loved by them ❤️
I'd highly recommend an immersive read. I don't know how I waited so long to read this!

Overall: Loved it, inhaled it, and I can't wait to see what is next. I will be checking out JR's work because this was truly great. #topshelfsmut
NOTE: I received an ALC and this is my own honest and unapologetic review - Thank you!

The audiobook was done brilliantly! Great cast, great characters, the audiobook 100% made this book better. I really wanted to love this more because I was super excited for Cain's story. I love the idea of this world.

I'm so disappointed that I didn’t enjoy this book more. I love the idea of the world, and I like the characters, but this entire book is set up for the main characters to have shmex. There's little plot, no romance or courting or discovering of each other, all they have together is shmex- but there are better smut reads out there if thats all you want, ones with a simpler plot/ characterverse and actual romance mixed in.
It's really annoying and dissapointmenting that The mc's finally meet in person with literally 20 minutes left in the book, and then it’s all over. Like many reviewers have said- I got to know the villain more in this story than I did two of the main guys.
There’s no opportunity for this book to ever be a romance or romance ajacent because there’s almost no interactions between Scarlett and the MMCs. I see you, I want you, I stick something in you. Ug. That's all this is.
They’re fated mates and are feeling attraction because of that, but theres no feelings of love or protection, nothing to say they are happy and want to keep her forever, no deeper feelings or deep connections. it’s really unsatisfying to read / listen to because you want that romance and you want her to be saved from the terrible situation she is in but they just come along and, well, 'come' along.
When it comes to the characters we never found out much at all, we got vague descriptions of what each looked like, we got a thin description on scalett but then it was just forgotten about- so what is she? What can she do? Is she important?
I won't re-read and sadly won't recommend either. The whole book feels like a first draft that should never have made it to the public eye.

I managed to finish it but it was rubbish. I won't keep a physical copy and won't recommend it, but it's a shame as the plot could have made a good book in another authors hands
⭐️⭐️.5
It was OK. I wish i didn't start this one as It didn't do it for me as I struggled to read it. It had an interesting premise that fell flat but I had to see what happened in the end.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don't regret reading it, and I will read the next one, but this one did have a few flaws. [These could be repetative writing, gaps or plot holes, better character growth or world building, areas needing more detail]
Generally, the book lacked depth and became confusing. The plot resonated with me even though it annoyed me on the whole.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I'm glad I read it. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to the right people, but I wanted more! Sadly, it's easily forgettable with a few issues I just couldn't overlook/get past.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good book! I loved it, but... I needed more! I really did enjoy it, but it had a few parts that needed more detail or added history/background or lore. But that's because the story or characters were memorable, and the plot was strong with brilliant twists. I would re-read if I needed to catch up for the next book and would recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Great book! I truly wish the story had been thought about more, or the author had been given more time as this book is so close to brilliance! I will likely read again and will definitely be recommending to all!

WOW! Absolutely amazing book! Well written with great characters and a plot so memorable that it will stay with me. I will definitely read this again, I will be recommending it and sharing it with the whole world! Also- I NEED A PHYSICAL COPY!
🔥⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥
This is my God level tier. The book must be perfectly memorable, even after reading 50+ more books, I will remember character names and emotions along with the plot. If there is a special edition, then I need to own it! If there is a conversation on books- I'm talking about this!
🌶️– segsual language and a little on-page action
🌶️🌶️– a lot of segsual language and some on-page open door action, may be occurring a couple of times
🌶️🌶️🌶️– a lot of explicit action and dirty talk, occurring frequently with 2/3 lurvers
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ – super graphic and explicit, occurring 4 or more times, can be more grey and taboo themed.
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ – Kinks and Fet!shism, explicit and super graphic. It is likely to be tushy play, toys, play rooms, and more darker / taboo fantasies and realities.

I liked the story overall. But felt the magic system and how the dream world and nightmares worked was very confusing and somewhat vague.

Monsters. Nightmares. Revenge. And a girl trapped in a bargain that could cost her everything. Their Blood Queen is a dark and seductive journey through a world where magic and madness blur. Scarlett’s story is emotional, twisted, and completely addictive.
This MMFM reverse harem fantasy has all the dark romance vibes with monsters, magic, betrayal, arranged marriage, and steamy tension. The dream world setting adds a surreal edge that pulled me in immediately. Scarlett is strong and resourceful, and the writing flows beautifully. Even though this is the second book in a series of standalones, I had no trouble jumping in.
The audiobook is where this really shines. Multi-cast duet narration with powerhouse voices makes it unforgettable. With five male and two female POVs, each character comes alive with intensity. The cast absolutely delivered. I devoured it in a day.
⚠️ Be sure to check trigger warnings first. If you're into dark paranormal romance with spice and monsters, this one is worth it.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I've been so excited for this book when Cage and Saber were mentioned in Lethal Pet, and it didn't disappoint. There is a tie-in with the Hell Fae series as well, which is one of my favorite series as well.
The audible book was one of the best
Each character is narrated by a different actor, amd they do an amazing job of bringing the story to life. I wish more audio books were done as well as this one was.
