It was about a girl named cady who was in Africa studying with animals when her mum gets offered an job in an university so they moved to America. But cady was homeschooled and had never gone to a school before and her parents are worried for her as she has never been to school before.

Movie >>> Book
If you love the movie, don’t read this... I mildly enjoyed it ONLY because I read the character’s lines in their voices from the movie. BUT if I had never watched the movie before, I probably would have DNFed this book. The characters just aren’t likeable. Like, AT ALL. But if we’re talking about the movie...I love it and can repeat it verbatim word for word. There’s no comparison between the two. The humor doesn’t translate as well. The thing I liked most about this book was some of the different POVs (Janis and Damian), but Gretchen’s POV was almost cringe-worthy to read (as well as Mrs. George’s to-do list filler pages between some chapters). If you’re a die-hard Mean Girls fan, do yourself a favor and just watch the movie for the millionth time instead of reading this.

Honestly, it just made me want to watch the movie. It didn’t bring anything new. Aside from a couple funny diary entries.

this book was really so fun to read. it very much played the movie in my head but it was also fun to get to see some of what was going on with other characters. i wish it went a little more into what other characters were thinking and going through, but it was still a lot of fun to read.

Basically exactly the same at the movie with some perspectives added in from main characters. If you like the movie, the book is just as enjoyable. But you aren’t missing anything if you watch the movie and skip the book (which came after the film anyway).

This book was pretty much just the movie in novel form, but I still enjoyed it.

You see, here's the thing. The movie was gold. And I'm not saying that this novelization of it is not gold, but compared to other novelizations I've read, it wasn't.....it just didn't hit all of my marks, even though I laughed at all of the funny lines from the movie.
