The first half was just purely enjoyment. Loved learning about them and seeing them go on this journey. The second half was me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I sat through 2 whole days just reading cause I couldn’t put it down. For anyones that been contemplating getting it and reading it I say DO IT! It’s sooooo good and so well written. I’m in love. So excited to start reading Crooked Kingdom so I can find out how they’re gonna get themselves out of this mess<3


Also: one of the best quotes ever: “Jer molle pe oonet. Enel mörd je nej afva trohem verretn” which means: “I have been made to protect you. Only in death will I be kept from this oath” in Fjerdan. It’s beautiful imo

A lot of the content warnings occur in flashbacks to the characters’ childhoods, so most of the violence and abuse is happening to children under the age of 15. Please keep that in mind before reading it. It’s an amazing book, but it could be very triggering.

A really cool novel that will entertain and entrance you.

I found it a little bit pretentious at first, but I got over it in the first twenty pages (maybe it was just Kaz's introduction. And well. He is a pretentious motherfucker.) 

Both the plot and characters stand out to me, the plot was gripping, fast faced but fluid. It's one of my fave tropes, too (delinquents and heists). While our characters do incredible things, it doesn't read as too much, or make you roll your eyes. The characters are charming and well rounded, the relationships between them feel natural and the dynamics suck you in.
